William "Will" Wilson

PROFESSOR | BLACK BELT | 2026 EUROPEAN CHAMPION

William “Will” Wilson is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Andre “Alemao” Vasconcelos and one of Carlson Gracie South Bay's accomplished competitors.

Will's journey in Jiu-Jitsu began at just four years old in Maui, Hawaii, where his father first introduced him to the sport. Training under Christian Grandi at Carlson Gracie Lahaina, he quickly developed a passion for Jiu-Jitsu that would shape his future.

After moving to Torrance, California, Will continued his training under Professor Andre Alemao at Carlson Gracie South Bay. With years of dedication, consistent training, and competition experience, he progressed through the belt ranks, earning his black belt in June 2025.

Throughout his competitive career, Will has established himself as one of the sport's rising athletes. His accomplishments include winning the Juvenile World Championship in 2021, the American Nationals as a purple belt in 2024, and earning silver at the 2024 World Championship. In 2026, during his first year competing as a black belt, he captured gold at the IBJJF European Championship in Lisbon, Portugal, followed by a silver medal at the Pan Championship.

Known for his technical approach to Jiu-Jitsu and his signature deep half guard, Will brings his competition experience and knowledge back to the mats at Carlson Gracie South Bay. As both a competitor and instructor, he continues to represent the academy while helping the next generation of students develop their skills and grow in the sport.
